Greyhound in Motion Original Folk Art Painting On Board by Matt Rix

This original folk art painting by Matt Rix depicts a greyhound captured mid-stride, racing across rolling green ground beneath a soft pink sky. Its elegant, streamlined form and sweeping tail create a strong sense of movement, while the stylised white clouds add a gentle, whimsical character.

Painted on board using reclaimed household paints, the work has a strong sense of material honesty and quiet character. It is presented in a hand finished wooden frame, painted black with a subtle gilt inner edge and lined with antique backing papers that add depth, texture, and history.

Signed by the artist, this striking original celebrates the grace and athleticism of the greyhound. It works beautifully alone, while also pairing with its companion painting, Greyhound at Rest.

Matt Rix is an emerging British folk artist known for his naïve paintings of animals, portraits and nautical scenes, with work held in private collections worldwide.
